Rock, Paper, Scissors: mixed and alternative media

Rock, Paper, Scissors: An Alternative and Mixed Media Art Show - Celebrating Earth Month

Embark on a visual journey that moves beyond traditional boundaries at our upcoming open art call, "Rock, Paper, Scissors." This unique exhibition is a celebration of creativity and a tribute to Earth Month, inviting artists to explore alternative and mixed media expressions inspired by the act of caring for our planet. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!

The title, "Rock, Paper, Scissors," serves as a metaphorical playground for artists to engage with diverse materials and techniques. Just as the game unfolds in unexpected ways, artists are encouraged to break free from conventional artistic norms that mirrors the dynamic and interconnected nature of our world. Artists are invited to explore themes related to environmental consciousness, sustainability, biodiversity, and the delicate balance between human existence and nature.

Mediums

From the solid resilience of rock to the delicate versatility of paper, and the playful interaction of scissors, this art show embraces a broad spectrum of mediums. Paintings, sculptures, installations, digital art, and beyond – all are welcome. Let your imagination roam and create pieces that reflect the essence of Earth, utilizing materials that resonate with its beauty and fragility.

Through your art, share a powerful narrative that sparks contemplation and dialogue surrounding our planet's future.

Work must be original. Unless it is a photograph, digital art, etching or a relief print, no prints will be allowed to hang on the wall. If you would like to submit a two or three prints for sale in the print bin please let the attendant know at work drop off.

Submissions are now open! We eagerly await your creative contributions.
The submission deadline is Friday, March 29th, 2024 at 11:59pm
